Alexis Sanchez scores first goal, as United beat Huddersfield

Manchester United January transfer signing, Alexis Sanchez opened his United account as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at Old Trafford to take advantage of a rare slip-up from Manchester City.

Manchester United win takes them to within 13 points of the league leaders, Manchester City who were held to a 1-1 draw at Burnley in the lunch time kick off.

The match marked 60 years on from the tragedy that killed eight of the great United Busby Babes, as a minute silence was held before the match to pay  tribute to the victims of the Munich disaster

The host were left frustrated in the first half, as they had to wait until the second half to break the deadlock with goals from Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez enough to secure the victory.
